Overseas Then Under

trainh13 A strange little gem of a record. Blending a bluesy folk sound with southern gothic charm, this record has a wide array of sounds, but all of them enjoyable. It's laid back, but earnest, and shows a real commitment to album craft. An overall wonderful find. Favorite track: He's Not Mine.

about

Hailing from the Shoals area of North Alabama, The Bear explores Southern tales that range from childlike innocence to murderous disillusionment. Overseas Then Under is the second album from singer/songwriter spouses Louisa Murray and Nathan Pitts. Recorded by Ben Tanner primarily in the couple's home, the album experiments with an array of genres ranging from dreamy pop to folk and indie rock.

about

The Bear Alabama

From the Shoals area of Alabama, The Bear began as a duo but gradually added an ensemble of multi-instrumentalists. The result is a varied sound that is difficult to pigeonhole but consistently surprising and exciting.
